Memoria Vitis - Charrat

About the winery

Wine is the memory of the vine, but also of time, places and encounters.

Trained as an architect in Italy before becoming a travelling winemaker exploring the world of wine, Elio Moreno settled in Valais in 2018. After several years of experience working with some of the region’s prestigious wineries, he released his first limited-edition wines in 2024, on the occasion of his daughter’s birth.

Captivated by Valais and its breathtakingly steep terraced vineyards, he founded MEMORIA VITIS, a winemaking project built around two complementary approaches: cultivating half a hectare of his own vines and regularly selecting parcels farmed by winegrowers who share his values and sensitivity to the natural world. This philosophy, rooted in respect for the vine, naturally extends to the cellar, where winemaking takes place without artifice, allowing the grapes, and ultimately the wine, to express themselves as freely as possible.

By nature, these wines are fleeting: they may disappear or reappear from one year to the next, depending on the vintage. Each cuvée is therefore unique, both a memory of a shared moment and a faithful expression of its terroir.
