Défayes & Crettenand - Leytron

About the winery

It was in Leytron, "village of the Humagne" that the families of Edmond Defayes and Jean Crettenand decided to create a family cellar in the truest sense of the term in 1965.

After gaining a wealth of experience in wine and plant nurseries, motivated by their concern for purity and authenticity, they innovated and embarked on the unique production of Valais specialities with special emphasis on a happy union between soil and grape variety.

Succession is now ensured by Stéphane, son of Edmond, and his son François, who are very actively involved in the operation of the estate and the cellar, thereby continuing the family tradition.
