Cave du Vieux Pressoir - Michel Reuse - Riddes
About the winery
Cave du Vieux Pressoir offers more than 20 kinds of wines and spirits (Williams pear, Luizet apricot, prune and Gravenstein apple). With 17 grape varieties, it is able to offer you different white wines, red wines, rosé wines and sweet wines. It also produces strong alcohols, such as the Williams pear or the Luizet apricot.
Passionate about wine, Michel Reuse trained as a winegrower at the School of Agriculture in Châteauneuf. In 1981, he decided to open the Cave du Vieux Pressoir in Riddes, in the heart of Valais with his father, Jean-Claude Reuse. With a first harvest of 3,000-4,000 litres, the wine merchant now produces up to 25,000 litres of wine. Everything is done by hand.
Another specific feature of the cellar master is direct fruit sales : apricots, cherries, pears, apples and plums. The company cultivates 25 hectares of fruit trees and 2 hectares of asparagus.
