Cave du Vidomne - Cathy et Timothée Gaillard - St-Pierre-de-Clages

About the winery

Vidomne was founded by Albert & Meinrad Gaillard in 1985. Vidomne means the place and the person where the tithe (tax equivalent to 10% of a peasant’s earnings) was collected by lords in the Middle Ages.

The cellar runs a 2.5 hectare estate in the Chamoson Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée, renowned for its magnificent terroir due to clay-limestone soils.

When Vidomne was first started, four grape varieties were produced (Chasselas, Sylvaner, Gamay and Pinot Noir). At present, the cellar has more than 20 different grape varieties in its plots, including Petite Arvine, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Diolinoir, Syrah and even Malbec. Grape varieties that flourish wonderfully on its lands.
