Sélection Excelsus - Chamoson

About the winery

This name should evoke excellence but no etymology connects the two words. However, if there is any confusion, it does not bother Jean-Claude Favre, who decided to process and market the harvest produced by his father Maurice in 1980.

Renaud, second son of the family, joined Hélène and Jean-Claude in the company in early 2017, ensuring a welcome continuity.

The 7.5-hectare estate is located on the famous Chamoson alluvial cone, partly owned and partly rented, where around a dozen grape varieties are grown, some of them in a very confidential way.

Since 1 January 2021 and continuing Jean-Claude’s work, the estate has been converted to organic farming.
