Provins - Sion

About the winery

As the largest producer of Swiss wines, Provins is a leading figure in the Valais economy. It accounts for around 18% of wine produced in Valais and 6% of wine produced in Switzerland. Provins cellars grapes from around 750 hectares of vines, spread across Valais’ vineyards.

It is also the most decorated Swiss winery in national and international competitions and has won the title of Swiss Winery of the Year on two occasions, in 2008 and 2013. These remarkable results across the entire range of wines demonstrate the top-level skills of the winemaking teams and the commitment of the 1,500 grape suppliers, who, through their outstanding work in the vineyards, provide high quality grapes to produce beautifully expressive wines.

Based in Sion, Provins employs 80 staff and its annual turnover is around CHF 60 million. The company produces around 20 ranges with a total of 120 wines, covering all sectors of the market from mass-market retailers to gourmet restaurants and private clients.
