Cave du Cholèk - Katia Zufferey - Muraz-Sierre

About the winery

Oenologist engineer, Katia Zufferey represents the fourth generation and took over the cellar in 2022. It received a makeover and became a limited company. The cellar is now called Cave du Cholèk - Cholèk, coming directly from the Valais dialect. It means sun.

A small family business based in Muraz-Sierre, they cultivate 3 hectares of vines and produce wine from 2 hectares. Their vines are cultivated according to integrated production to respect nature and in accordance with Vitival standards. They are mainly located on the right bank (Veyras and Venthône) and on the plain in Sierre. A single plot is located on the left bank in Grône. Their wines are produced in stainless steel vats.

They have a tasting cellar which can accommodate up to 20 people for tastings. The cellar is present at the festivals of the mountain pasture of Rouaz in St-Luc, at the various tastings in the Val d’Anniviers and at the Marche des Cépages (vineyard trail). It is also open on Ascension weekend during the Valais Wines: Open Cellars.
