Cave du Chevalier Bayard - Varen

About the winery

The Cave du Chevalier Bayard is a passionately run family business with a history spanning more than 40 years. The children of the late Jérémias Bayard founded the winery in 1975 to ensure the tradition of cultivating the family vineyard continued.

At the outskirts of Varen, they created a place where that tradition could be appreciated and high-quality wines produced. In 2012, the third generation took over the management of the winery. Its board of directors includes 22 shareholders, most of whom are members of the Bayard family.

In recent years, the winery has faced up to the growing challenges of the Swiss wine market. Like the French knight who inspires its name, the winery has adapted fearlessly and faultlessly to meet the growing expectations of its customers. They maintain viticultural cooperations with other wineries in the region to continue improving the sustainability of their vineyard and the quality of their wine.
