About the winery
In 2014 Jürg Biber took over the winery from René Mathier, who had gone against contemporary trends to plant each variety in the right location.
Jürg expanded the vineyard to cover 6.5 hectares of land. In the early ripening areas, Pinot Noir has been replaced by late ripening varieties. The range of grape varieties has also evolved in recent years to favour Heida, Merlot and Malbec.
The unique landscape of Salgesch, with its distinctive, Mediterranean climate, is reflected in Jürg’s instantly recognisable wine.
