Pierre-Elie Carron - St-Pierre-de-Clages

About the winery

Passion for the vine is passed from father to son in the Carron family. Nothing was more natural than starting an apprenticeship as a winegrower. Work in the vineyard very quickly held no secrets for Pierre-Élie. But he would like to go further.

Ambitious and motivated, he brilliantly obtained a Federal Certificate of Proficiency as a commercial employee and then another as a Winegrower at the Châteauneuf School of Agriculture. He further broadened his field of expertise by doing a traineeship at a plant nursery. But he wished to go still further.

He then started a Bachelor of Engineering in oenology at the School of Viticulture and Oenology in Changins. He completed the theory along with practical experience, while broadening his horizons, working at Weingut Hermann in Fläsch, before going into exile in South Africa for a few months at Mountain Ridges Wine in Wolseley. He then wished to to return from this distant location.

Back in the attractive terraced vineyards of Valais, rich in his experience and knowledge, he embarked on a new adventure in 2016: creating his own range of wines.
