About the winery

The Maye family is the guardian of a long history. It began in 1889, when Léonide Maye founded this historic winery on Valais soil. Seventy-five years ago, Cécile and Germaine, the founder’s daughters, celebrated their acquisition – the Clos de Balavaud – by ceremoniously opening a bottle of sparkling wine.

Since then, Maison MAYE has continued its journey. In pursuit of innovation and quality, the team works in a spirit of tradition and respect for their precious heritage.
