Domaine Gérald Besse - Martigny
About the winery
Gerald Besse acquired his first plot of vines in 1979. With the help of his wife, Patricia, he cultivated the domain and established the cellar in 1984. Driven by conviction and passion, they progressively expanded the estate over the years, culminating in its current size of 20 hectares. Their dedication has resulted in the production of wines imbued with genuine character, crafted with utmost respect for the grape variety.
Patricia and Gerald instilled their love for wine in their children. While Sarah has been actively involved in the family estate since the beginning of 2013, Jonathan pursued a different career path, yet lends a helping hand when necessary.
Their vineyard plots, situated on the steep slopes above Martigny, are primarily tended by hand. These meticulously maintained vineyards, characterized by diverse soils, allow they to cultivate a variety of grape varietals, each thriving in its ideal soil composition.
