Cave de la Pinède - Leuk-Susten

About the winery

Cave de la Pinède was founded in 1988, in Finges (a hamlet in the municipality of Leuk) by Yves Zen Ruffinen, who qualified as an oenologist and winemaker at HES.

Of the eleven hectares that make up the estate, three are devoted to winemaking, and are divided between Finges, Leuk and the terraces of Uvrier. The winery cultivates a range of grape varieties, including Pinot Noir, Chasselas/Fendant, Sylvaner/Johannisberg, and white and red specialities such as Petite Arvine, Muscat, Syrah, Humagne Rouge, Cornalin and Gamaret.

The vines are nurtured in harmony with nature, and in line with the guidelines of VITISWISS (the Swiss Federation for the Promotion of Sustainable Winegrowing). In autumn, the grapes are harvested by hand and the wine is made directly on the estate. For over thirty years, Yves’ passion for authentic wines has led him to opt for plot-based winemaking (one vine = one vat = one wine). Vinification and bottling are done on the estate under the "VINATURA – Sustainable Development" label.
