Biocave - Marc Güntert - Miège

About the winery

René Güntert, the founder of the winery, handed over the family business to his son, Marc, in January 2018. Marc is continuing to build on the family’s heritage, supported by his sister Corinne and their mother, Elisabeth.

The vineyard consists of various plots in different terroirs on the right bank of the Rhône. Over the years, the Güntert family have adapted the grape varieties to these different plots. All their work is done in the service of a single goal: producing quality grapes and wines. Once the grapes arrive at the winery in Miège, they are carefully processed. As in the vineyard, inputs and operations are kept to a minimum to allow the wines to fully express their character.

The entire estate is cultivated according to the strict BIOSUISSE ORGANIC specifications, which prohibit the use of synthetic chemical products in either the vineyard or winery. Fortunately, thanks to the warm, dry climate of central Valais, natural products are more than enough to achieve exceptional results!
