Enjoy attractive walks along the water, on picturesque paths, through the vineyards, at the foot of the terraced walls or across forests, orchards or pastures. You will appreciate the magnificent views of the city of Sion, its hills and castles as well as the Rhone valley.
Bisse de Montorge
The Bisse de Montorge draws its water from Montorge Lake. It irrigates the vineyards of the southern hillside of Montorge and flows into the Morge. Throughout your walk, you will cross many localities and in particular the famous Domaine du Mont d’Or and its magnificent old Johannisberg vines.
Duration: approximately 2 hours from Sion to Montorge and back again
Bisse de Clavau between Sion and St. Léonard
Built in 1453 by the Venerable Chapter of the Cathedral of Sion to irrigate the vineyards of the Ayent, Grimisuat and Sion municipalities, this bisse has its source in the wild gorges of the Lienne and discharges its surplus precious waters further on in the Sionne, near the city of Sion.
Duration: around 2 hours 30 minutes between Sion – Molignon – Signèse – St-Léonard
Bisse de Lentine
The Bisse de Lentine has its source in the Sionne and irrigates the vineyards of Savièse and Sion before flowing into Montorge Lake. This charming walk overlooks the city of Sion and its hills.
Duration: approximately 2 hours 30 minutes from Sion to the Bisse de Lentine and back to Sion
