Varone Vins - Sion

About the winery

Vins Varone, established in 1900 by Frederic Varone. It was the first winery to fill its quality wines into bottles instead of using open containers. This innovation propelled the commercial developpment of Varone wines in gastronomy and among private customers, both locally in Switzerland and internationally.

Anticipating market trends since the 1920s, founder Frédéric Varone strategically established renowned brand names like Fendant Soleil du Valais and Dôle Valéria.

In 1992, Maison Varone joined with Bonvin 1858 Les Domaines to form Les Celliers de Champsec, aiming to capitalize on synergies and streamline operations.

Philippe Varone subsequently entrusted the management of his enterprise to Celliers de Sion under David Héritier's leadership.

In a collaborative effort, the two partners have strengthened their ties by establishing a joint sales team and launching Switzerland's first Oenoparc.
