Mageran Kellerei - Leuk-Susten
About the winery
Michael Mageran was one of the most illustrious inhabitants of Leuk and one of the most powerful men that Valais has ever seen. He was elected as the governor of Valais in 1631. Ewald and Maria Grand-Meichtry’s family named their winery after him, seeking to imitate his temperament, maturity and wisdom in winemaking.
Mageran Kellerei uses Integrated Production methods. The soil remains sustainably fertile and rich in microfauna. With this approach, nature assists them in constantly improving the quality of their grapes. Deliberate pruning and gentle treatments are the foundations of their winemaking, while the VINATURA label is emblematic of their approach to the craft.
Ageing in casks imparts a distinctive note, but connoisseurs can also enjoy a glass of wine matured in stainless steel vats.
