Domaine du Mont d'Or - Sion

About the winery

Established in 1848, Domaine du Mont d’Or is the oldest winemaking estate in Valais. In the 19th century, the historic cellars were carved out of the schisto-sandstone soil that forms the estate’s terroir.

Ideally situated on the south face of the Montorge hillside to the west of Sion, the Domaine du Mont d’Or vineyard is home to 220 terraces covering 24 adjoining hectares.

The Johannisberg grape variety, the star of the estate, grows on half of this land.
