Cave du Crêtacombe - Chamoson

About the winery

Housed in a 19th century building, the Cave du Crêtacombe is nestled off a narrow road that climbs steeply from Rue de Plane Ville in Chamoson.

The winery is a labour of love and the product of much hard work. Neither Fabienne Constantin-Comby – who succeeded her father, François-Emmanuel – nor her husband, Michel, were originally planning to work in the wine industry, but they both embraced a risky career change and began working the vines together.

The couple also made the bold decision to age some of their varieties in amphorae –a technique that was seldom used in Valais at the time. Within these giant concrete eggs, the wine is kept in constant motion while promoting suspension of the wine lees, and imparting a fresh and elegant taste.
