Caves du Paradis - Olivier Roten - Sierre
About the winery
In 1959, Alex Roten founded Caves du Paradis, named after the neighbourhood of Sierre where it is located. His son, Raphaël Roten, who has always been passionate about wine, took over the winery in 1989.
Today, Caves du Paradis cultivates a vineyard covering ten hectares, shared between the municipalities of Sierre, Miège and Salgesch. Olivier, Raphaël’s son, a Valais winemaker and a master's graduate of the International Diploma in Vine and Wine Management, continues his grandfather’s work.
Caves du Paradis produces a range of 20 vintages, including a special barrel-aged collection, matured in casks for 12 months. This includes Symphonie, a Pinot Noir grown in Salgesch; Noir de Noir, an exquisite blend of Syrah and Gamaret; and the Merlot, vinified in 600-litre casks. Another exclusive is the Cuvée Mélèze, aged in larch casks to lend this white blend notes of resin and mountain herbs.
