Benoît Dorsaz Viticulteur - Fully

About the winery

Born into a winemaking family, Benoît Dorsaz grew up amongst the vines. In 1986, he rented his family's vines and undertook the replanting of the vineyard as well as the renovation and expansion of his father’s cellar with the support of his wife Maryline. Little by little, the estate has expanded just enough to ensure efficient craft cultivation, managed by the couple.

Benoît and Maryline attach great importance to the social role of winemaking, particularly when it comes to offering the best possible working conditions. Since 2003, the couple have turned down all offers to expand their estate. They refuse to increase production, instead focusing on creating excellence across their 5 hectares.

Benoît Dorsaz adopts methods of cultivation that respect the environment. and he campaigns for social, profitable and realistic winemaking. This endeavour has led him to favour biodynamic cultivation techniques. Out of respect for the vineyard’s soil, the winemaker prefers to allow the growth of natural grasses which make a crucial contribution to biodiversity.

This same philosophy applies in the cellar, allowing the wines to develop the characteristics that best define their vintage, as well as the distinctive Fully terroir, where two mountain ranges overlap. The Arvine, Cornalin, Humagne Rouge and Syrah (we are on the banks of the Rhone, after all!) grape varieties all benefit from maturation in wooden barrels.
